Hardly any traffic could be seen on the streets of Arlington, DC area after night-long snowfall, Saturday. Up to 24 inches of snow has fallen in the Washington DC and Virginia area. Local residents could be seen cleaning up the streets after the night-long snowfall. Virginia State Police has responded to hundreds of traffic crashes since Friday. One person is reported to have died as a result of the extreme weather. Virginia along with Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and New Jersey are among the states that have declared a state of emergency due to the heavy snowstorms.
