The High Level Political Coordination Committee headed by Unified CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today suggested that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli focus on implementing past agreements and treaties rather than signing agreements on new projects during his India visit.PM Oli is scheduled to visit India from February 19 to 24 on the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Formed by the coalition partners to advise and assist the Oli-led government, the committee urged the PM to ensure Nepal’s interest in providing transit access to China and other countries for diversifying Nepal’s business and trade during the visit, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare CP Mainali.The meeting of the HLPCC advised the PM to make the state visit fruitful to improve the strained relationship between the two countries.
“All representatives of the committee suggested that the visit should succeed in establishing the rights of a landlocked country.We also suggested that the PM make it sure that Nepal would not face any kind of blockade in the future and to revive the friendly relations between the two countries and create a situation for curing the bitterness of the Nepali the people caused by the blockade,” said Mainali.
